Thunder

The thunder rolled outside. I always loved the sound of it mixed in with the sound of the rain falling; it ways made me fall asleep really quickly.

Tonight was differnt.

I laid in the bed and listened to the sounds outside. It would be a normal night if not for the other occupant of the bed.

Slow breathing could be heard behind me and I knew he was sound asleep. I didn't mind that he was here with me but it was making it difficult for me to sleep tonight. No idea why either! We had been sharing the bed for a while now. Didn't make sense to me.

I listened to his breathing for a while mixed in with that of the sounds outside hoping it would lull me to sleep.

I sighed. There was no getting around it. I wasn't going to sleep.

I felt a light touch followed by a heavier one. I looked down not knowing what it was and smiled. His arms were around my waist, pulling me closer to him. I smiled even wider feeling my eyes getting heavy.

I guess that was what I needed to go to sleep.
